Synopsis

Batman and Batgirl have just apprehended a criminal when Oracle summons Batman to the Watchtower. When Oracle realizes that Batman has brought Batgirl with him, she hesitates first but then starts to explain that none other than David Cain has sent a video straight out of a nuclear weapons storage facility on Hanford Island. The video shows Cain drinking alcohol and explicitly inviting Batman. Batgirl immediately wants to go there but Batman holds her back. He will accept the invitation although he knows it is probably a trap.  Batgirl heads out on patrol again. As she is standing on a roof Batgirl suddenly gets shot at by a sniper. Due to her reflexes she is able to duck the bullet, but she is not able to catch the sniper. She returns to the Watchtower but does not tell Oracle what just happened. David Cain just has switched on the live video feed again and Batgirl quickly notices that a SEAL team is preparing to storm the facility and overwhelm Cain. But when the smoke clears it is Cain who is still standing while his attackers are probably dead.   Meanwhile, Batman has reached the facility on Hanford Island, but when he is about to enter the building a huge explosion occurs. The video is revealed to be prerecorded when Cain (the gunman who shot Batgirl) confronts the man who placed a hit on her, warning him that it is a bad idea to hire a man to kill his own daughter.
